Lot 80 - Steinway (c1929) - | Est. £12,000 - £18,000

£11,500.00

A 7ft 5in Model C grand piano in a mahogany case on square tapered legs; together with an adjustable stool.

Condition Report:

LOT 80 – STEINWAY MODEL C GRAND

Casework:  Is in generally acceptable condition.

Frame and Soundboard:  Are good, although there are a number of loose pins – a number of pins which have been chalked and upon further examination these do feel a little loose.  It may well be that the pins in question can be pushed a little further into the wrest plank and this may well remedy the problem but this should be borne in mind and my advice would be if you are considering buying this piano, perhaps come and see it with the technician that you intend to do the general work to it.

Keys and Keyboard:  Are ivory – in good condition.

Hammers and Action:  Are good – dusty but nonetheless good.  The hammers are a little squared and could perhaps do with a shaping.

General Notes:  This is potentially a lovely piano that still sounds good but please be aware there are one or two areas of concern, most notably the pins in the central section.

This report is based on a cursory examination and is our opinion only.  It does not constitute a guarantee and potential buyers should satisfy themselves about the lot before bidding.
