A 5ft 1in Model S grand piano in a mahogany case on square tapered legs.
Condition Report:
LOT 60 – STEINWAY MODEL S GRAND
Casework: Is in generally very good condition but there are one or two small blemishes to the top lid – these will be easy to disguise and not anything for anybody to worry about.
Frame and Soundboard: Are in excellent condition. This piano looks as if it has been restored in the last 30 or 40 years and to a good standard. The soundboard has got a few faint marks on it but these are not the beginnings of splits, they are just what we refer to as ‘striations’.
Keys and Keyboard: Are in good condition – there is one stranger (i.e. a replacement on the front edge) but the keyboard itself generally is in very good order.
Hammers and Action: Are in good condition and the piano plays very nicely.
General Notes: This is a really nice piano.
