A Model SG-185 grand piano in a bright ebonised case on square tapered legs.
Condition Report:
LOT 141 – REID-SOHN GRAND
PLEASE NOTE: IS A MODEL SG-185
Casework: Is not in very good general order and looks as if it has had a hard life case-wise. There is damage to the front edges, there is multi scratching on the top lid and whether this would buff out is a matter of opinion. There are veneer pieces or chunks missing from the treble end top leg and chips to the corner of the cheek blocks on both sides and general impact marks on the legs.
Frame and Soundboard: Conversely, the interior is in very good condition and bar a little corrosion to the strings in the treble, looks in very good order. The frame is good and the soundboard is also good.
Keys and Keyboard: Are also good – they are a plastic material.
Hammers and Action: Are good, but I suggest a slight shaping of the hammers wouldn’t go amiss.
