A 6ft 85-note Model A grand piano in a rosewood case on square tapered legs; together with a stool.
Condition Report:
LOT 106 – STEINWAY GRAND
PLEASE NOTE: IS A 6FT 85-NOTE MODEL A NOT 6FT 11IN 85-NOTE MODEL B
Casework: Is in generally tired condition. There is fading, there is polish loss, there are scratches, there are differences in colour, so now would be the time for a re-polish. The piano itself would provide a nice basis for this work. Please note: these are replacement square tapered legs and the music rest is also a replacement.
Frame and Soundboard: Are good. There are the tiniest beginnings of splits in the soundboard, both running through the badge which boosts piano manufacturers to Her Majesty the Queen of England.
Keys and Keyboard: Are ivory and in good condition.
Hammers and Action: Are dusty but everything is working well.
General Notes: This piano will be very nice but needs a little work to bring it up to standard.
