A Vertegrand upright piano in a rosewood case.
Condition Report:
LOT 103 – STEINWAY MODEL E UPRIGHT
Casework: Is generally good. There are one or two small areas of damage to the rubbing rail at the front, which is to be expected, but other than that, the piano is in generally very good order. Please note: there is a little moulding missing from the top of both pilasters, but this is not noticeable.
Frame and Soundboard: Are good. There is the very faint beginnings of what could be discolouration on the soundboard, but could also be the beginning of a small split, but nothing whatsoever to worry about.
Keys and Keyboard: Are in good order – they are ivory – there are one or two replacements which are a slightly different colour but nothing to worry about.
Hammers and Action: Are good. This piano has obviously had work at some point.
General Notes: Overall, this is a nice instrument that has had re-build work done as necessary and it plays very nicely.
