What You Should Know About Yamaha

Yamaha are a Japanese brand, amazingly established in 1887, when they first started by making harmoniums.  They became well-known in the United Kingdom in the 1960s, mainly because they made good quality uprights and grands at prices which were on the whole cheaper than the good UK brands.  They quickly gained a reputation of high consistent quality.  Present day Yamahas are made in a variety of countries, including China.  Their so-called ‘Hand-Made Series’, which are still made in Japan, are highly sought after and the upright U1 and U3 are considered excellent teaching instruments.
