While the first Steingraeber pianos were made in 1852 in the Festival City of Bayreuth, the company actually got its start in the 1820s with the Steingraeber & Söhne piano factory in Thuringia. From there, Eduard Steingraeber went on to make history in Bayreuth with his revolutionary ‘Opus 1’combining Viennese and English actions.
