A 6ft 2in 85-note 3 pedal Model A grand piano in a bright ebonised case on turned reeded legs. This instrument has been fully restored. Condition Report: Steinway Model A Grand The case is in good condition and has been recently re-polished. This work has been done to a good standard. The stringing, frame, soundboard and bridges are good. Although an observation would be that there is a split forming in the soundboard under the bass dampers. This is having no bearing on the sound and has presumably been ignored during the restoration because it was not considered to be an important resonating area. The action is good. The flanges, hammer shanks and hammers themselves have been replaced. The keyboard is in good condition and the material used for covering is ivory. This instrument has been restored to a good standard and the lettering on the frame is outlined as it should be, rather than being painted fully black. The original transfer has also been preserved on the soundboard, which all shows attention to detail. This report is based on a cursory examination and is our opinion only. It does not constitute a guarantee and potential buyers should satisfy themselves about the lot before bidding.
