Condition Report:
LOT 7 – KNIGHT UPRIGHT
Please note: that as the piano sits on its castors, it is slightly taller, although the body of the piano is 120cm.
Casework: Is in good condition. There is a repaired piece of damage to the bottom of the front rail and there a few nicks and dings and dents around the toes and on the legs, but other than that the case is acceptable. There is a small scratch in the middle of the front panel – this will be easily disguised.
Frame, Pins, Strings, Soundboard and Bridges: Are in good condition.
Hammers and Action: The action is good.
Keys and Keyboard: Is plastic and is in good condition – there are one or two felt tip marks which might need to be removed.
General Notes: Just out of interest, this piano is in possession of a K46 frame. Alfred Knight made arguably the best British upright pianos of all time and this is a magnificent sounding piano with a very strong bass.
