Condition Report:

Lot 55 – Steinway Model O Case by Waring and Gillows

The case is in lovely patinated condition and smells (tastefully of course) of ‘old money’

The stringing is acceptable but there is corrosion and a missing string in the bass section.

The soundboard is acceptable but has splits in various places.

The bridges are good.

The action is acceptable but further investigation will be required in order to ascertain the condition of the action rails.

The keyboard is good if a little yellowed in places. Ivory has been used.

A wonderful old piano that will reward any restoration that a new owner might consider undertaking.
