£2,000.00
A 4ft 7in Model S grand piano in a mahogany case on square tapered legs; together with a stool.
Ivory Registration Number: Y7Q4WUH3
Condition Report:
LOT 3 – BECHSTEIN GRAND
Casework: Is in generally very good condition. There are one or two areas of fade but nothing of consequence, and the whole case itself will revive.
Frame, Pins, Strings and Soundboard: Are good but very dusty. The soundboard has one or two cracks forming to the back but they are not encroaching on the main body of the soundboard. There is surface corrosion to the treble strings but it is my opinion that these will clean nicely.
Hammers and Action: The action itself is pretty much like the rest of the piano, a little dusty, and the hammers will need to be re-shaped. There may be a little regulation required.
Keys and Keyboard: Is ivory and there are four missing. The keyboard itself will need to be repaired and indeed cleaned and once this is done this has the potential to be a very nice little piano.
This report is based on a cursory examination and is our opinion only. It does not constitute a guarantee and potential buyers should satisfy themselves about the lot before bidding.

It is now illegal to sell a piano with an ivory keyboard dating post 1975 without an Ivory Registration Number. Pianos with ivory keyboards dating pre 1975 will have been registered with APHA on the government website. All pianos dating from 1947 - 1975 with ivory keys will have an Article 10 certificate in place.
This lot may contain elephant ivory material. Please be advised that several countries, including those in the EU and the USA, now prohibit the importation of ivory items unless under specific conditions. Accordingly, prospective buyers should familiarise themselves with the relevant customs regulations of their country and ensure they are able to import this item prior to bidding.
