Condition Report:
LOT 10 – STEINWAY GRAND
Casework: The case is acceptable but there are areas of damage, small dings and dents, some scratches, some little bits of polish loss about the body of the piano, but an instrument of this type would certainly benefit from a re-polish and would justify it too.
Frame, Pins, Strings, Soundboard and Bridges: Are good. Just to note there appears to be a new string in the bass but nothing to worry about there.
Hammers and Action: The action is good. It may well be that the hammers could do with a shape but the piano still sounds magnificent regardless.
Keys and Keyboard: Is plastic and is in good general condition – there is a little bit of side to side play, particularly in the middle and could therefore do with re-bushing.
General Notes: A little cosmetic work (well that’s stretching it a bit), a re-polish or just indeed live with as is, but nonetheless, a mighty piano.
