A Model 170 grand piano in a bright ebonised case; together with a stool. Please Note: This piano is located in the Netherlands. Condition Report: This is the Steingraber & Söhne Phoenix, which means that this instrument has improving carbon fibre, action parts, sound board and innovative bridges. The case is in good condition. There are one or two of the very faintest surface scratches to the folded back portion of the top lid that we associate with high shine finishes Upon the removal of the piano action, we noticed that a little bit of the surface veneer is lifting from the inside of the treble cheek block. This can be ignored or easily glued back down again. The stringing is good. The frame is good. The sound board is very good. This is the carbon fibre sound board faced with a veneer. The bridges are good. They are of the innovative type employed by Phoenix renovations and the action is good and functions well. The hammers have been reshaped, but there’s plenty of life left in them. The keyboard is in good order, the material used for covering is plastic. Please note there is a damp chaser system fitted, good on the one hand because it shows this piano has been cared for and maintained, but it is unattractive and a new owner may wish to remove it. All in all, a fine little piano with the benefit of the Phoenix interventions. This report is based on a cursory examination and is our opinion only.
