Less Well-Known Japanese Brands - December 2020
Although the piano buying public are very much aware of the Yamaha and Kawai brands, very little is known (or publicised) about the lesser Japanese makers.
Some of these instruments are ‘badge engineered’ offerings from the main manufacturers, while others are from smaller independent factories producing well crafted and attractive pianos aimed firmly at the home market. The encountered names are many and varied but include among their number, Apollo, Diapaison, Flora, Atlas, Ellington, Ballindam, Schwester and our particular favourite, Fukyuama.
In our upcoming sale we have a number of these well-made instruments including a delightfully named Miki.
