Jessye Norman Steinway Upright - July 2020
Jessye Norman, who sadly died last year, was one of the stars of the operatic scene. A soprano who was equally at home performing operas at La Scala in Milan as in her native Georgia, USA, singing spirituals and jazz.
Her popular appeal made her a natural choice for performing at the presidential inaugurations of both Ronald Regan and Bill Clinton. She was also asked to perform at the 60th Birthday celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II.
In our Auction Sale of the 9th July 2020, we were proud to be selling her Model V Steinway upright, which she played in her Belgravia mews house whilst in London.
