Anthony Cooke

Many of us will remember the name Anthony Cooke, who was a Senior Technician at Steinway and Sons.  He joined as an apprentice in c1963, when the workshops were still in Hanover Square, continuing to become the onsite Senior Technician until c1998.  A gentleman with exacting standards, he spent many a lunchtime making a replica model of a Steinway Model D concert grand piano, even including the shoe and trolley to move it on!  An extraordinary feat and the model became fabled to those in the industry.  Measuring just 27 inches long, we were fortunate to be able to offer this in our Auction Sale of the 4th April 2019.
