Important information
Ivory: It is now illegal to sell a piano with an ivory keyboard dating post 1975 without an Ivory Registration Number. Pianos with ivory keyboards dating pre 1975 will have been registered with APHA on the government website. All pianos dating from 1947 to 1975 with ivory keys will have an Article 10 certificate in place.
Description
A 5ft 10in Model O grand piano in a rosewood case on dual square tapered legs; together with a stool.
Ivory Registration Number: B2BV7JMC
Condition Report:
LOT 95 – STEINWAY GRAND
PLEASE NOTE: Is on dual square tapered legs.
Casework: Is in acceptable condition. There are one or two areas of polish loss, one or two areas of fade, one or two small dings and dents and a little moulding missing from the top collar of one of the legs at the treble end.
Frame, Pins, Strings and Soundboard: Are solid but corroded. The strings are corroded but the soundboard is good. The frame is grubby but in solid condition. This instrument is probably ready for a re-build.
Hammers and Action: Is acceptable, but again it could well be time for a re-build – the hammers are sadly squared and these at least will need to be dealt with.
Keys and Keyboard: Is ivory and it is in good condition.
