Description
A 6ft 1in Model C3 grand piano in a bright ebonised case on square tapered legs; on an ‘A’ frame.
Condition Report:
Lot 8 – Yamaha Model C3 Grand
The case is in an acceptable condition but there are areas of damage most notably to the legs and leading edges of the lid, alongside the surface scratches we expect on these high shine finishes. The case could therefore do with attention in multiple areas. The instrument is also sitting on an ‘A’ frame and has lost its castors
The stringing is acceptable but there is a little corrosion particularly noticeable in the treble strings.
The frame and bridges are good.
The soundboard is good but when viewed in certain lights I can see what I consider to be a compression ridge but others might consider to be the beginnings of a split. Whatever your view this is having no bearing whatsoever on the sound and can be ignored.
The action is good – the hammers could do with shaping but everything is working as it should.
The keyboard is generally good but there are chips to two key tops in the middle of the keyboard. The covering used for the keyboard is plastic.
This is a nice piano that needs a little work.
