Condition Report:
Lot 1 – Steinway Model K Upright
The case is in an acceptable condition but there are one or two blemishes and a little dulling of polish in some areas.
The stringing is acceptable but there is a little light corrosion. The frame is good. The soundboard is acceptable but there is a split forming above the treble bridge. There bridges are acceptable but there are splits forming in the bass bridge.
The action is intact and working well but will require attention in the future.
The keyboard is acceptable but there is significant yellowing to the ivory covering.
This piano would make an excellent platform for a rebuild project, and is after all, still a Steinway.
