DULCITONE FEAST SEPTEMBER 2011!

A dulcitone is a small keyboard instrument where the hammers hit a range of tuning forks. They were designed and produced by Thomas Machell & Sons of Glasgow.

Those of you old enough to remember 'Listen With Mother' will fondly recall the little musical ditty which preceded the words, "Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin . . . " It was played, of course, on a dulcitone!

To have four of these rare instruments in one auction is I believe unprecedented!

Lots 26,  44,  57,  107 Estimates ranging from 200 - 600
